Festive jellies for a very Merry Christmas!

Prosecco, elderflower and berry jellies I can’t believe tomorrow is Christmas Day!  If anyone is looking for something simple to serve to family and friends over the next few days then I’d highly recommend you give these Prosecco, elderflower and berry jellies a try.

I made a trial batch of these festive jellies by Jamie Oliver last week and they turned out really well.  There is very little preparation work required and the finished result has a certain wow factor.

Prosecco, elderflower and berry jellies

These jellies are lovely and light served by themselves, but also taste great with a scoop or two of vanilla ice-cream.  I particularly love how the jelly captures the Prosecco bubbles inside when it sets, which are then released in your mouth in an unexpected fizz with each spoonful.

You can find the recipe to make these festive jellies here. The recipe serves 10.  All you’ll need is:

  • 8 punnets of berries (I used blueberries and raspberries)
  • 4 gelatine leaves
  • 140 ml elderflower cordial
  • 2 tbsp caster sugar
  • 425 ml Prosecco, chilled.

Happy Holidays people!  I hope you all have a wonderful time over the next few days with your nearest and dearest.

Thanks Laura. Would you believe I’ve been meaning to try these little jellies for a couple of years now!? I’m so glad I finally did. I was really surprised with how much fizz the jelly captures. Definitely an unexpected bonus. I hope you had a lovely Chrissy and New Years too! x

Oh God, I’d love to have these on my New Year table. Think it’s time to open up that Prosecco bottle I’ve been saving for the last couple of weeks.

Happy new year Olguta, sorry for the slow reply, I’ve been having a little break over the festive season. I’m so pleased you like the look of these little jellies. Hopefully you managed to put that bottle of Prosecco to good use. 🙂

These jellies are a great idea, although I can’t claim credit. You’ve got to love good old Jamie Oliver 🙂 Mixed with the Prosecco, the elderflower really does bring a great extra taste to the jelly 🙂
