It begins with one step
There was a time not so long ago when I used to love to run. I got a little obsessive about it. If I didn’t go for a run at least four times a week, I would start to get restless. I would plan my social life around it. Then one day, I just stopped. I’m not sure why, I just did.
Since I’ve moved back to Sydney, I have started to run again. Not anywhere near as often or as fast. But I have started. And today I ran and finished the 9 km bridge run as part of the Sydney Running Festival. Not quite a marathon, but it was a start and wow, what an amazing experience. Being one of 32,000 participants on such a gorgeous day against such a spectacular backdrop was a pretty inspiring and memorable moment.
If any of you have been toying with the idea of starting something new, or just rekindling an old passion, all I can say is get out there and do it. The hardest step is the first, after which there’s no looking back.
